The national camelid registry

The animal has neither a microchip nor any document. In the event of theft, escape or a dispute over a sale, there is no way to prove who owns it — or even to identify it with certainty. It is also unlawful: identification of camelids is compulsory in France.

The animal carries a transponder implanted by a vet, so it can be identified uniquely. But a microchip identifies the animal, not its owner — it proves neither ownership nor pedigree, and its history is neither public nor verifiable by a buyer.

The animal receives its official number for life (AFR/LFR), together with a public record verifiable by QR code, a declared pedigree, a PDF ownership document, and transfers requiring two confirmations (the seller starts, the buyer accepts) whose full history is kept. A buyer can check the record before the sale.

The ownership title (a complete PDF: identity, pedigree, photographs, documents) is hashed with SHA-256 and that hash is anchored to the Bitcoin blockchain through OpenTimestamps: its date and contents become impossible to alter — even by the Alliance. You alone hold the owner’s key, issued once. On each transfer a new title is issued and chained to the previous one, and the whole chain can be verified publicly.

The strongest level of proof: a genetic fingerprint (a laboratory DNA test) is attached to the certified file. It ties the title to the biological animal itself — so even a microchip that has been removed or swapped can no longer allow one animal to be passed off as another. Anchoring is duplicated on a second blockchain (premium option). Recommended for breeding stock and high-value animals.
